STUFF...
The stuff is exactly that. Other 'S' words could also describe these
things I have a comparable vague liking to. That is, comparable to the
select things I'm rather obsessed with
(Keanu Reeves,
Beck Hansen,
riding horses,
and all things related). The stuff is sort of the branches
off my obsessions - the background of my life, and my experiences that
drew me to the obsessiveness. Afterall, there were movies before
Speed and activities before riding.

Visual Arts
In elementary school there would occationally be an artist who would work
with a small group of students. I was always the one of few chosen from
my class.
-grade 3: kite-making
-grade 4: classroom decorations for Hallowe'en
-grade 6 and 8: backdrop scenery for the class plays (I'm never the actor)
-grade 7: a mural in the school stairwell (and almost failed Science because of it).
Even though I haven't been able to take art in school since grade 11,
I'm still happy to have the knowledge that I do have.
Boring old pencil is all I usually have time for, but I'm rather fond
of a few paintings and sculptures I've done. I learned to sew, knit and
crochet at an early age and have made a few useful, and attractive
objects from this.
I'd like to think of my website design as being a great piece of
art, but that's prehaps a bit cheesey.
Anyway, here are some examples of my work. (You may notice I enjoy drawing animals).
Computers
I've always been the first one to learn to program the new VCR.
There's something about figuring out how "complicated" things work that
compells me. For example, IKEA furniture is my favorite stuff to put together.
I first used the internet in 1995, and I find I have a small addiction to it now.
I got my own computer for September 2000. I'm definately addicted to Napster, if nothing
else.
I'd really like to learn how to make cooler looking images on some fancy program because
I think I suck at that the most.
I took 2 computer courses in school and learned far more than I'll ever
need (and didn't need--computers isn't a business credit--urgh!)
but I taught myself HTML and I think I'm doing pretty well as far as it
goes!
Anyone wanna give me highschool credit?
Oh well...look around my site via the links at the bottom.

Don Adams (the voice of Inspector Gadget--a pretty similar show but animated), Barbara
Feldon, Edward Platt.
ER
A realistically hopeful drama about life as an ER doctor. I think I'll go hang out with
my ER doctor uncle sometime just to see what's it's really like. I'm addicted to making
myself used to the horrible injuries people can get though and how to handle them.
I was obsessed with The X-Files and David Duchovny for a while. Some
friends and I have seen a movie called "Julia Has 2 Lovers" a few too
many times, and "Rudy" just for one line. As well as "The Rapture" just
to see Mulder with his pants down....yeah...thank goodness I didn't get
too into his older stuff. It's not appropriate for most eyes.
I extremely enjoy movies with the following actors:
John Cusack, Joan Cusack, River Phoenix, Sidney Poitier, Kevin Kline,
Robin Williams (who I saw at the Toronto Film Fest 08.99),
Steve Zahn
(who I also saw at the Film Fest 08.99),
Harrison Ford, Will Smith,
Ving Rhames, Ben Kingsley, Dan Ackroyd, and Robert Redford.
Nature
Eventually I hope to find myself somewhere I can look over the land and see nothing that
has been "landscaped" or made by a human. Where that would be...I don't know. For now,
I think my favorite place is either Shediac, New Brunswick, Deluth, Minnesota, or Westport,
Ireland.
I'm not terribly big on books (it's too quiet in the confinds of my own
brain to concentrate for too long), but there are a few I have really
enjoyed.Some of my favorite authors:
Robert J Sawyer (The Terminal Experiment, Factoring Humanity, Flashforward)
Piers Anthony (On A Pale Horse, With A Tangled Skien)
Reinaldo Arenas (The Doorman)
Some poetry I have also found quite inspirational,
including some by a friend of mine.
Medicine
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 7 years old (in March 1989). In an attempt
to better understand why I had diabetes I became facinated with science and medical stuff.
It was greatly influenced as well, I believe, by my science teacher in grade 7. Though
he was crazy, he made it evident that science only has one logical answer and I preferred
that mode of thought to "no answer is a wrong answer" in most of my other subjects.
Anyway, when people saw how efficient I was at giving myself injections and so on, they
would all suggest I become a doctor. Eventually the idea sounded kind of nice (since
I really had no idea what to do). Knowing how stupid people at the hospital are, I'd
rather not go into human medicine. So, I'm opting for veteranary medicine.
In the meantime,
I have a collection of articles and science related things posted on this
site in case anyone is interested. Please give me stuff to post if you can!
I would love to get some feedback!:
